About Manav Ekta Divas :
Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji was a great saint who preached human brotherhood through spiritual awakening of masses. Since his assassination, people all over the world have been observing Manav Ekta Diwas on his sacrifice anniversary.
Every year April 24th is celebrated as Manav Ekta Diwas or Human Unity Day in whole Nirankari world. The day is the anniversary of the sacrifice by Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji for the entire Humanity.
As per divine words of Babaji’s Holiness, ‘Blood should flow in veins, not in drains’; Sant Nirankari Mission organizes special blood donation camps and community clean projects to observe Manav Ekta Diwas all over the world.
April 24, 2010 marked the 30th Anniversary of the sacrifice of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj and Chacha Partap Singh Ji. Their sacrifice towards humanity is the prime reason Manav Ekta Diwas (Human Unity Day) is observed in the Nirankari world. With the blessings of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Mahraj, the Ann Arbor/Detroit Satsang observed Manav Ekta Diwas Samagam on Sunday, April 25th at the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bawan in Westland Michigan. Devotees from all over Michigan participated in the samagam.
Many Saints including Rev Updesh Ji, Rev Ashish Ahuja ji, Rev Rajan Sachdeva Ji, Rev Sudesh Kundal Ji, spoke about the teachings of Satguru Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji. They all prayed to Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that all saints continue to follow and remember the sacrifice of our satguru and many other saints who dedicated their lives to the mission.
Dr Greg Ji and Rev Robin Moeller Ji reminded us of the live scene they saw in Delhi 30 years ago when they were studying in India and attending sangat in the presence of Satguru Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji. Rev Harbash Lal Ji, and Sister Baby Ji sang very melodious hymns on Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji’s life.
Stage was conducted by Rev. Sukhdial Singh Ji who from to time read excerpts from Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji’s vichars in My Voice. Rev. Sukhdial Singh Ji also shared a touching story of Chacha Partap Singh Ji’s dedication to seva.
Rev. Gobind Singh Ji presided on the stage. At the end of the samagam, a documentary was shown on the life of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji. All saints especially the youth were very appreciative in viewing this documentary and seeing such valuable history of the mission. His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji’s vichar was web cast from Delhi.
As per the divine words of his Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj “Blood is to flow in veins and not in drains”. With this inspiration every year the Sant Nirankari Mission organizes blood drives all over the world. The Sant Nirankari Missions branch of Ann Arbor/Detroit organized a blood drive with the collaboration of the American Red Cross at the Sant Nirankari Bhavan in Westland on Sunday May 9th. Saints anxiously started to gather at the bhavan as early as 8:00 am and the blood drive was not to begin until 9:00 am. There was much enthusiasm by all saints to donate blood.
Around 47 saints signed up for the blood donation. The mix of saints donating blood spanned all age groups and many saints became donors for the very first time. Those saints who were not able to donate blood were enthusiastically providing refreshments and conducting other sewa towards the saints donating blood.
In total 26 units of blood were donated since many saints could not donate due to travel to restricted areas. The American Red Cross was very appreciative and amazed to see the discipline and enthusiasm of all saints. We all pray to Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj to please bless us so that we continue to do sewa, simran, and satsang and live our lives according to the lord master.
